Home Safety & Personal Care
Our needs often change as we age, or in response to injury or illness, and having the right set-up in our homes can help us to continue living independently and safely. An occupational therapist can assess your current functional needs, and make recommendations to maximize your safety and independence. These may include:
- Assistive devices to help you walk more safely
- Equipment or modifications in your bathroom
- Tools to perform daily tasks such as eating, bathing, or dressing
- Positioning devices or aids to improve comfort when sitting and lying
- Wheelchairs, ceiling lifts, hospital beds, lift chairs, ramps, and caregiver training.
