An occupational therapist can assess your current functional needs, and make recommendations to maximize your safety and independence. These may include:
- Assistive devices to help you walk more safely
- Equipment or modifications in your bathroom
- Tools to perform daily tasks such as eating, bathing, or dressing
- Positioning devices or aids to improve comfort when sitting and lying
- Wheelchairs, ceiling lifts, hospital beds, lift chairs, ramps, and caregiver training.
If you feel that you or your loved one requires personal care assistance at home, an occupational therapist is skilled in determining what help is needed, and can make these recommendations on your behalf.
We have established relationships with local vendors who can provide quotes for any necessary equipment or devices, and we can provide a letter of recommendation or prescription for you or your insurer if needed.
