General Assessments
Occupational therapists are known for their “whole person approach” and are trained to examine all aspects of a client’s function, including physical, cognitive, mental health and environmental factors. Understanding these factors allows us to determine their effect on an individual’s ability to perform daily tasks. We can address specific questions, such as a client’s ability to perform certain roles, or in a particular environment, such as home, school or work.
After completing a thorough occupational therapy assessment, we can provide recommendations to maximize an individuals safety, comfort, and task performance. This may include recommendations for equipment, environmental modifications, or caregiver support. Our approach is tailored to meet the needs of our clients, and recommendations to address specific factors can be requested as part a general occupational therapy assessment.
